this effort is being coordinated with recently approved land use and transportation plan. we're looking at how to extend the benefit of having a west side alignment beyond park merced here. we have produced some initial study products, including planning goals [speaker not understood] as well as existing conditions so we can understand in more detail really what happens to the [speaker not understood] light rail as well as traffic volumes in the area and pedestrian activity. and we started the process of developing some preliminary concepts for how we could do that light rail shift to the west side. do we go over 19th avenue, do we go under 19th avenue, where do we go over and where do we go under and how do we come up. we continue to screen out these preliminary concepts together with our partners, and we expect to bring some concepts to the community later this fall. this is kind of a project looking at a medium to long-term implementation. we're looking at at least 10 years out or so. which is different from the next effort more of a shorter term effort to improve 19th

there used to be six watering holes. what's happened is through the years landlords have rented out to a corporate sector. it would have been very easy for mr. sirhed to sit back and greet the mailman and collect a check. what he did was talked to me and says, look, what am i to do here. we've got walgreens with a flagship store, 18,000 square feet. will it be hard for me to compete with that. the iconic gold dust lounge is departing for 165 jefferson street. what are all the people who come to the locals and tourists alike. going to say what happens, what is going on. i know the place was around here somewhere, it is gone. we are not going to be able to replace the gold dust. we will come in with a theme consistent with the area. right on the cable car line. it is going to be -- fill a void, first class. the capacity is only 49 so no impacts or intensification. i urge you to transfer this to the location site so we can preserve character and give san franciscans and tourists the best deal on the square. >> any other pub

anyone who is complaining about parking spaces, has been using the parking space i have not used in the 25 years in san francisco. i don't take up a parking spot. i don't have a driver's license, they can thank me after the hearing. but now masonic is my north/south route. and other streets go straight hill and dead end. if there was another option for bikes, we would take it. believe me. and the conditions on masonic are completely unacceptable, not just me but the people that have been killed there that i am totally heart broken about. and to me that takes such precedence over parking, and the fact that people are complaining about the loss of parking spaces, and in the light of the slaughter on this street. it's shameful of that priority. this is a great plan, i am extremely impressed what they have come up with. and it's no loss of muni speed. as experienced as i am in a bicyclist in this city. i have been extremely close to being killed on masonic. to the point that the person in the back has their heart in their throat. don't want to do that and please approve this plan. >> ana ma

thank you for joining us. let's start by talking about your background, where you grew up. >> i grew up in sacramento, california, in the south area. went to public schools. ended up in uc-davis. made my way out to san francisco when i was a college student, and i sat in the class is in san francisco state as well, and i remember growing up at that time around clement street. we call the richmond district the new chinatown in the 1980's at that time. just being around the tremendous unique neighborhood, and discovering san francisco in the 1980's as i grew up, but i also have been very active as a community organizer. i worked in chinatown, and some first jobs also at the mental health center in the richmond area multi services in the 1980's, and i was also a staff are at the chinatown youth center -- i was also a staffer. a lot of my work has been supporting community empowerment, especially in an immigrant and people of color communities. most recently, i have been teaching at san francisco state. i ran the

the lobby is warm and rich enough with the colors and as people go into legitimate theater you are used to lobbies that are comfortable areas and not that it isn't going to be comfortable but has to have that feel for a theater. a couple other things that came up in our discussion and the first is there are trues in front of the theater now and they need a little work. i appreciate the trees on market. they might not be in the best positions but if there is anything to be done as a project along market to prune them more evenly and allow visibility to what is behind them that is something that we need to work on, and the other issue that came up i believe there is not a port to share but a drop off area that exists now and in practical terms when people are visiting and need for various reasons need to be dropped off in front it would be helpful. i know we don't want curb cuts on market but a slight area for the drop off to occur and not disrupt the traffic or movement of market certainly would be a great feature. the other thing i like about this and it was pointed out the fact that ha
